History Of Belmont Barber Chairs
Originating from Japan, Belmont barber chairs first emerged in the 1930s. The manufacturer, which was founded by Hidenobu Yoshikawa and was later renamed Takara Chuzo Ltd. They made their entrance to the United States in 1956 which established Takara’s entrance into the world market. The formation of Takara Company NY Inc. was brought in, and finally became Takara Belmont USA, Inc. The firm launched its first hydraulic barber chair in the same decade. Takara soon spread into Europe by 1960 teaming up with Wella. Today Takara Belmont is the World leader of both classic and modern barbers chairs.
Takara Belmont continued to grow and dominate the global stage and with the purchase of the well know Koken brand who had the patent for the joystick lever, a lever which allowed a single mechanism to perform all the functions of the chair meant they could undoubtedly go on to produce the best barbers chairs on the market.
