An original early 1930’s American antique industrial trash basket. Diamond wire mesh waste can with rolled rim. Vintage industrial wire mesh waste paper basket, great shape and form, presents well, The base is almost nicer than the basket. It is stamped with maker Nemco, Manufactured by The North Western Steel Products Co Chicago. Patent Jan 30 1923 & April 28th 1925..
W.M. Dillon moved to Rock Falls, Illinois from Ohio. He founded Northwestern Barbed Wire Co. upon his arrival in 1879. In 1936 Washington Dillon’s son, P.W. Dillon, installed two electric furnaces and rolling machines in the barbed wire factory in order to make low carbon steel. Two years later the company became known as Northwestern Steel and Wire. On Oct. 7, 1998 NWSW announced its intention to cease production of most of its wire products.
