Description
Chrome X folding frames with yellow basket weave design on the vinyl and four buttons on the back. The chairs bear a label which reads:
” Lee Krome – Fold All Purpose Chair Patent pending Manufactured by Lee Industries Inc, Chicago 12, Illinois World’s Largest Manufacturers of Chrome Folding Chairs”.
It was filed for patent in 1950 by inventor Lee Gethner, who later assigned the patent to Lee Industries. The chair seat folds forward and down, rather than backwards and up. Gethner claimed it could be folded with one hand and took up less room to store. Little information about Lee Industries is available, which is odd since it claims to be the “world’s largest.”
There are a couple of marks to the vinyl but the chrome is still good for the age. Folding mechanism still works.
